Melrose, NM: My first impression of Dr. Frezza was very good. He was very truthful about the benefits, and also about the risks. I knew that there was a chance that this could go wrong, and because of that I waited for one year. After that year, and several more pounds, I made the decision to trust Dr. Frezza. It was the best decision ever! I like his straight forward attitude, but sometimes it can be disarming too. He says it like he sees it, and it might sound harsh. But he also really cares about his patients, and he is brilliant as a surgeon. His after care has been somewhat light for me, but I have had no problems, and that is probably the reason why. I really have not needed him. I would rate him 10 out of 10, and I would say that his bedside manner, and surgical competence are both top knotch.

Lubbock, TX: I think Dr. Frezza is great! He is concise and to the point. He makes it very clear that he is your surgeon, not your babysitter, and after he does his work, the rest of the work is up to you to do. Both he and his Resident Physicians checked on me constantly when I was in the hospital. I had no complications and very little pain. His office staff is just wonderful. They're always available to take my calls, answer my questions and offer helpful hints and advice. Dr. Frezza does not have a warm, fuzzy bedside manner, but his staff makes up for that. Truthfully, though, I don't particularly want my surgeon to hold my hand and tell me everything's going to be okay. I want him/her to tell me what to expect, warts and all. And that's what Dr. Frezza does. As I've gotten to know him better, he has "warmed up" some and he's really a pretty funny guy! I've been to one support group meeting and I'm looking forward to going to more.

Borger, TX: Dr.Frezza will not hesitate to tell you what he wants out of you as a patient. He will tell you that 95% of sucess is how you follow his post-op plan. Dr. Frezza has changed in the past 4 months from a doctor relationship to a friend. His staff is always there for me and answered any concerns or questions I had. I live in Borger , Tx . They have opened a clinic for WLS in Amarrillo which is 40 mins away compared to the 3 hr. drive I make to Lubbock to Dr. Frezza's office. The Surgeon in Amarrillo is experienced but only preforms the open operation not the laproscopic like Dr. Frezza. My wife, mother-in-law, and aunt-in-law will be using Dr. Frezza for thier operation. How many Doctors would you send you family members to and feel safe about thier outcome. Dr. Frezza is a caring doctor that is concerned for your health and future. He is not a " show me the money" type of doctor like the one's popping up over night preforming these surgery's. I would say that Dr.Frezza is top of the line when it comes to competence and bedside manners. Would suggest looking into Dr.Frezza and his staff if thinking about having WLS.

Albuquerque, NM: Dr. Frezza is a very knowledgeable and straight forward Physician. He is there to help, but as he will tell you, he is not there to baby-sit. He is extreamly skilled in Laproscopic Surgery and with the experience he has is a skillful clinitian. He "tells it like it is" and will not lead you around or tell you he can do something that is not right for you as a patient. This approach sometimes surprises his patients but to me this is the exact type of Dr. I want and need! To me he is one of the most skillful Bariatric Surgeons in this country.

Odessa, TX : I will be 2 years post-op Lap RNY in October 2005. I have done wonderfully following this procedure and the benefits of having WLS are too numerous to list! I started out in a size 26-28 and am now wearing a size 12! It is wonderful. I will turn 50 this year and feel better than I did at 25! I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Frezza. He is very professional and an excellent surgeon. He cares very much about how his patients do. I found that he values your input to your care as well. Dr. Frezza does expect you to do your part and follow his directions. He is very blunt and specific about the risks of this surgery and expects you to understand these risks.(You even take a test over the risk, prior to surgery). He does have a structured aftercare program.

Artesia, NM: I liked Dr. Frezza immediately - he was direct and to the point, no nonsense. He almost tries to talk you out of the surgery and then makes you go through a huge battery of testing with several different specialists to make sure you are serious about the process and to see what your medical situation really is. I hear from other patients and all the staff at the hospital that he is a stickler for the plan, and if you don't follow it he will fix the problem you created and then ream you or the nurses out for it. I was impressed that at the ver first consultation he tells you his morbidity rate. He is very professional, his office staff are wonderful, and I would definitely recommend him to others looking into bariatric surgery.

Albuquerque, NM: My first impression of Dr. Frezza was an articulate, intelligent, sharp, no-nonsense medical professional. As the daughter of two registered pharmacists, I tend to be very critical of how a doctor comes across. I was instantly comforted that he knew what the hell he was doing. His office staff was absolutely delightful!!

Albuquerque, NM : Dr. Frezza is clearly a skilled surgeon who has high professional standards of care for himself and his patients. He does more than bariatric surgery, but it appears that bariatric surgery is a major portion of his practice. He has a good sense of humor, but is stern and no-nonsense about the importance of following prescribed routines. His staff is well-trained in dealing with bariatric issues. I wish more time was available to spend with Dr. Frezza, although the time that was made available was adequate. Aftercare has a strong emphasis. Risks of surgery are also emphasized strongly. I rate Dr. Frezza highly and do recommend him. Surgical competence is his strength relative to bedside manner, but he is clearly a nice guy who likes to converse with his patients when time is available.

Amarillo, TX: I was very impressed with Dr Frezza. He is a very smart man and also takes his work very serious. He is very straight forward with his patients. I like how he would check on me after the surgery,He was very caring.I was pretty nauseated after my surgery, but for me that is not unusal, I am very sensitive to medications etc. He brought in two nice ladies,(I wish I knew their names)to cheer me up, they just had their sugery the week before and was all happy and just got back from the mall shopping. His staff was always extremely nice and helpful to me. For anyone that is having the surgery, I very much recomend Dr. Frezza He does his homework!!!

Midland, TX: I liked Dr. Frezza from the very first time I saw him. After I had my surgery and subsequent follow up visits, Dr. Frezza became more personal with me. I absolutely love all of his staff. Betsy Christi and Amy are the best. They treat me like they genuinely care about me. Dr. Frezza only wants the best for his patients. He will not approve any surgeries if he feels it is not in the best interest of the patient or if he feels the patient will not help out with their weight loss. The risks of this surgery were very plainly outlined to me orally and written and were easy to understand. 95% Surgical competence. He practices at a teaching hospital and most of the residents do his follow care while in hospital.
